The LABFORS 3 is the latest development of the very successful LABFORS line of bench-scale bioreactors from Infors, covering a range of working volumes from approximately 1.25 to 10 litres. A wide range of possible configurations are possible with both single and double-jacketed vessels and a range of drive motors. Of course, bacterial and cell culture systems are available. The system comes with 4 high-accuracy integral peristaltic pumps, with the option for a fifth analogue unit. The gas control system is built as an “open frame” on the side of the base unit and can be configured for a wide range of options eg. 1, 2, 3, or 4 gas mix, mass flow control etc. The vessel sits on a stainless steel drip tray and is designed for easy handling and disassembly. A connector for additional analogue input/output is also integrated into the base unit for linking external sensors, pumps and analysers. The LABFORS 3 uses the latest X-DDC microprocessor based control from Infors. The operating panel can control up to 4 base units and can be removed or relocated as required. A rotary knob makes navigation through menus easy and intuitive. Multi-bioreactor operations for up to four base units and vessels is possible.
