Digestion Tubes

To suit different applications and manual/automatic handling systems, digestion tubes for the Digestion Systems are available in two sizes 100 and 250mL in straight or constricted. All are of Foss quality with uniformly shaped bottoms to minimize stresses.

The larger 250 ml size is recommended for Kjeldahl, as it can hold samples of widely varying sizes. Samples with low protein content or heterogeneous materials often need to be fairly large. There is no lower limit of sample size in the 250 ml tubes; they simply allow greater flexibility for most type of samples.

The 100 ml digestion tubes can be used where the material is homogeneous and small samples are fully representative. The advantage of using small tubes is that digestion capacity is doubled in the same bench area.
