The
2000 Controller offers added security in applications where analytical
conditions are critical, e.g. wet ashing prior to trace metal analysis or
cases where the samples are sensitive to overheating at the start of
digestion. The 2000 Controller is included with the 20 and the 40-place
digesters.
The
Controller can be programmed for a sequence of up to nine combinations of
temperature (from ambient to 440°C)
and time (up to 100 hours). Several applications can be included in the
same program provided that the total number of steps does not exceed nine.
This is useful if the equipment is used to process different materials
from time to time.
The
compact Controller can be either wall or bench mounted. It draws power
from the
Digestor, so it does not need an independent supply. Extension
cable kits can be supplied for remote connection to the Digestor, Lift and
Scrubber.
Any
loss of power interrupts the cycle; the Digestor stops heating and the
Lift goes to the cooling position. If a Scrubber or Flow Regulator is
connected, it will stop too. Thus
if a power failure occurs during a critical overnight digestion, there
will be no dry tubes in the morning and no wastage of water. The power
failure is also indicated on the Controller display to tell the operator
that the digestion has not been completed.
The
Flow Regulator makes it easy to adjust the flow through a connected water
aspirator. An Exhaust works best if the suction is initially set to
maximum and then reduced to avoid acid losses. The water flow can be set
manually to HIGH, LOW or STOP with the switch. If a Controller is
connected, the flow is regulated automatically.
The
Controller is programmable in 9 steps. Temperature 30-440°C.
Time from 1 minute up to 99 hours and 59 minutes. Can control all the
Digestors, the Lift, the Scrubber and the Flow Regulator.
